my year in GRi11 2.0 (to my future self)

Dear future Lola this is your last year of primary school this is what i want to remember as my future self

 

on the first day of my last year at primary school i could feel the butterflies in my stomach flying around and trying to get out and was standing beside my best friend Kristy i knew she was nervous as well and then miss g came outside where we were standing and said Lola can you introduce yourself to Sarah she is new this year so  i did and we are best friends today we had the integrated unit of mindcraft (like minecraft the game) and haura the four elements social ,spiritual, physical , relax  we designed our class and now it's perfect our class is quite colourful but i like it that way this year we went on camp in the first term so we could get to know each other my dad came on camp and i was in a big cabin most of the girls were in one and then the parents were in the smaller one and some kids in a shed i was in the big one with my friends we did a big tramp when we got there and we did another one too a different day it was tiring we also got to see the glow worms and do a river walk and then in a snap camp was over it was my highlight of my year  .

Now its term two production term i auditioned  for a part and i got Taylor Swift's mum it was kinda sad i didn't get a speaking part but i was still happy and Kristy got the lead role of Cinderella and they practiced and practiced everyday for ages until the performance everyone looked great and no one forgot their lines my mum helped with makeup so we were there early, i was not in the first half so i could watch with my class but on the second night i forgot to go with my class and i was stuck backstage that was fun i  could watch from backstage Ava and i had to leave the ball scene early to get changed for the time dance and that was it in term 2

Now term three in term three we just did learning and testing and the integrated unit was environment we learn't about environmental issues like deforestation water pollution air pollution and acid rain and for taking action me and some others wrote letters to bill asking to redo the garden we didn't really get around to it though we learn't some ukulele and that's about it

Now last but not least term 4 my last term of primary school ever i was in the kids for kids kids  we did coding and lots of sport learning the ukulele that was fun we even went on a trip to my future school PLANS first we went and watched the performing arts showcase there was drama,choir,music and more then the next visit was a tour of the school my tour guide was Nathanael (i might have spelt it wrong)  he was nice he explained everything well and i met the principal but there will be a new one next year. I got to make my own episode of the amazing world of gumball in scratch which is coding  that was really fun i loved college street i will miss it when i move on to PNINS and start a new journey

athletics day

 today is the day CSNS athletics day i do not really like athletics day i do like some sports like long jump high jump  and i like lunch (but that's not really a sport but still) i don't like long distance at all its HORRIBLE i have had 4 athletics here this was my last the sports we do are long distance, long jump, high jump, sprints, hurdles,throw  and relay races i was in the relay  race this year i hope my house one oh right and we have four houses you can be in I'm in kea (green) there are also weka (red) takahe (blue) and tui ( yellow) (kea is the best) i do like parts of athletics like lunch and hanging out with my friends and some sports i love and hate athletics but i wont be doing it again at CSNS because the was my last one .

how to bake a cake 🎂

first you need your ingredients here they are...

3\4 cups butter or margarine softened
3 eggs
2 cups of sugar
2 cups of flour
3\4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon of baking soda
3\4 teaspoon of baking powder
2 teaspoon vanilla
1 1\2 cup milk

1. preheat oven to 350 degrees
2. grease and flour three 6" X  1 1\2 " round cake pans
3. mix together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and baking soda , set aside
4. in a large bowl beat butter, eggs and vanilla
5. gradually add sugar
6. beat on medium to high for 3 to 4 mins until well mixed
7. alternately combine in flour mixture and milk to batter while beating
8. continue to beat until smooth
9. poor equal amounts into greased and floured cake  pans
10.bake for 30 to 35 mins
11. check with a tooth pick to see if its done stick the tooth pick in the cake if it comes out clean then its done , bake for longer if needed
12.remove from oven and let cool in pans  for a few minutes
13. then take out of pans and place on a wire rack to cool completely

halloween

it was the 31st of October  and the freaky things came out and i had a halloween party 🎉       whoop whoop all my friends came kinda  well Kristy couldn't come   😢    but thats ok i had sarah shawny and dorothy it was so fun first we watched funny cat videos then we ate some candy yum and  after all that we went to the halloween train we waited in line for like half an hour finaly we got on the train and sarah and dorothy were regreting going on and me and shawny were exited and nervous at the same time me and sarah both said "i didnt have tim to writ my WILL  ahhhh the whole train screamed ahhhh screams again and again the sarah and i gave them compliments thatbwas fun it was fun and creepy i want to go again we all said nooooo said dad we went home and watched more videos and ate more apple bobbing time shawny dipped her whole face in the water and grabed an apple with her mouth yay she went off and ate it next sarah did it then me but dorothy didnt want to then everyone left but not sarah she stayed the night we stayed up for a while then we went to sleep .

my day in GRi11 2.0

as soon as the bell rings i run into class and sit down with my friends and wait for the teachers,as soon as they come we start the roll (we do numbers ) 1 2 3 etc my number is 36 so 36 then after the roll we get into are learning we use google classroom i am going to do my blog post .... HALF AN HOUR LATER brrrriiiinnnngggg the bell rings for morning tea i run outisde and get my lunchbox and sit down with my friends we eat and talk then we go play and run around until the bell rings we run inside and sit down with computers and get back on with it im gonna do my maths write your anwser in the comments 2 x2 =        7x4=    then its lunch i love lunch i eat all my food then go play today im gonna play cops and robbers  i was a cop i caught the robbers it was so fun after that we had athletics practice first ugh long distance i dont like that we ran around the school once phew we're done no said the teacher we had to do it AGAIN noooooo after that we did throw we had to throw the bean bag thing that was kinda easy i liked it then brrrrriiiinnnnggggg its home time i grabed my bag from the class and went to the gate and hoped in my mums car and went home.

My 2016 Calendar art

in term 2 we did a production  then this term we made a  graphic design for our calendar art about the production i thought i would show you mine leave a comment if you  like it  

are our actions killing animals and destroying their habitats

Many human actions are killing animals and  destroying their habitats such as deforestation, water pollution and poaching. I believe that  animals habitats are being affected by our decisions.

over 70% of the world's plants and animals live in forests and when  forests are cut  down that is called deforestation. Deforestation is the permanent destruction of forests. They are cut down  to make the land available for other uses. An estimated 18 million acres of forest  which is the size of the country of Panama are lost each year. Deforestation occurs around the world, though tropical rainforest's are particularly targeted. Deforestation is used to make new land, get wood for houses and to make paper we wouldn't want to lose our houses why should animals.

Do you know what happens when you drop a piece rubbish on the ground well first it will just sit there until it rains then it gets carried away by the water and down a drain into the ocean and some sea life will swallow it or get it stuck  around their necks and then they die, scientists  think that by 2050 there will be more plastic bottles in than fish in the sea  we can stop that from happening by never dropping rubbish  on the ground every piece of rubbish that is dropped  could could kill a sea animal .

When you kill animal for its fur its horns or anything else that is called poaching. Poaching is officially illegal. You can get a lot of money from selling cow skin or cheetah skin or horns from an animal which is probably why people do it for the money and too get house decorations as i said it is illegal but people still do it just because there animals does not mean they can be killed .

You may disagree but i think we need to do something. dont’ cut down as many trees, do not drop rubbish, don't kill animals on purpose and  pick up rubbish before it kills animals . By Lola

Fathers day writing!!

this week we have been working on a piece of writing for our dads i wrote a recount for my dads about us going skiing so i am going To share it with you hope you enjoy it.

It was a nice clear day at the mountain. You asked if I want to go skiing for the first time tomorrow  just me and you and I said YES! It was 6:50 the next  morning you woke me up, I was not happy because It was so early,  but I got up and got dressed and had breakfast then off we go. TWO HOURS LATER. I start to see snow.  We got out of the car and surprisingly it was hot.

We had to walk so far just to get skis, pants and once we got our skis on we got to go on the chairlift and I remember us taking selfies on it . When we  got to the ski site we put our bags down and signed me into a class. We had a two hour wait before the group lesson  so you taught me some things you were very patient. We went and had lunch. For my lesson you dropped me off at the big blue arch

You met me at the The Magic Carpet and we skied down the hill again and again and again.After a long day of skiing we took back our skis and headed to the car. And made a melted snowman, then a two hour trip home and stopped for chocolate eclairs.  I loved spending this day with you Dad. Thank you

haiku

for the past week my class have been doing  haiku's. a haiku is a form of Japanese poetry  there are 3 lines each line has a differnt number of sylabols the first line has five sylabols the second line has seven sylabols  and the last line also has five syllabus  this is mine it is about something i did in the  holidays enjoy

my production role

this term  my school is doing a whole school production and i have a role but i don't have a speaking role. the production is Cinderella & Rockefella it is where rockerfella has a concert and the after party is the ball where Cinderella goes and meets  Rockefella. Rockerfella is the new and improved prince charming but i'm not gonna tell you to much you have to come see the production .


my role is taylor swifts mum  in the ballroom scene there are some famous people and their family's
like Richie m'caw and his family Chelsea winter and her family and taylor swift and her family and the kardashins aswell i dont have a speaking role but i do get to walk down a isle as everyone claps and high fives us and then i am also in the finally i am quallified as a non speaking lead.

my favourite thing about learning in GRi11 2.0 is......

i have lots of favourite things here are a few
1.i can do what task i want and when i want to do it
2.i can pick what space i work in there is the silent room the social rooms and the main class we call it the hub
3.i can talk with my friends as long as i get the work done
4.i can attend workshops if i need help instead of sitting in a reading group and learning about things i already know
5. and last in GRi11 2.0 we get to have fun

It was just a normal day until we looked in the window and that's when it changed, everything was different there were named desks in rows everyone sat boy girl and signs on the doors saying DO NOT ENTER UNTIL 8.50  i was terrified of what would happen the bell rang we sprinted to class but the teachers weren't there they called us over and we walked in the class together and we found our name and stood behind it and we sang the national anthem and we never do that  then sat down and if you smiled,laughed,yawn,cough,sneeze etc you would  have to run laps or do burpees and i smile a lot so  i did some burpees.

we had to get out textbooks and do math i knew the maths just they explained it differently i only got like 3 questions done then we had to write  what mr r said i can't write fast so i mist a lot of words and then more WORK when morning tea came we could get 1 thing out of our lunch boxes and when mr r said bite we took a bite and  when he said chew we chew.

When we went outside we got told what to play i played air netball it was boring when the bell rang we did marching as a class when we went inside the teachers gave in and cracked up laughing they said when they left the room it was because they were gonna laugh so hard then we had to do a csi a csi is where you pick a color a symbol and a image for a certain situation are situation was traditional teaching style and learning how we do every other day here is mine hope you enjoy p.s you can go full screen

sport rotation 🎾

at my school every Tuesday the seniors do a sports rotation were we do two sports for an hour each usually we have some kids called sports coaches or teachers i loved tennis Mr r was the coach we learn a backhand and forehand serves then we played a game of doubles witch is 2 against 2 and my team was on a winning streak for 5 games we played first to 3 my brother plays tennis and i have before its a really fun sport and lots of people are really good at it i love tennis

It was just a normal day until i heard a  knock on the door "SARAH"I said with excitement  i swung open the door and Sarah came in said bye to her Grandad. We took of our shoes and jumped on the trampoline woo hoo I shouted then my Mum said I'll be right back the boys are here and that meant that my brother and his Friend were looking after us when mum got back we scooted to the esplanade and met Ella, Liam and Conner .We put down are scooters and got on the rocktapuss.


the rocktapuss was so fun we were hungry so we opened the chips. one person would push and try to put them in are hands it didn't work so we decide to hold the packet of chips and pass it around while going full speed we dropped quite a few chips  then we jumped off and ran to the mini trampolines we had to wait our turn but when we got on we were bouncing high we saw this weird guy who was try to be a ninja  we went on  a round a bout and tat guy was there he was really weird but we just ignored him.


then it was time to go home so we packed up our  stuff and got on our scooters and ride them to my house the got in the car and dropped Sarah home it was a really fun day.

on Tuesday 12th of April the senior swimming sports was held at the lido aquatic center we went on the bus to get there at 9:45 when we got there we got ready to swim  i was in the 25 meter freestyle that was first and flutter board that was second to last in the non champion chips i wasn't in a champion chip  then everyone did a relay my team was on a inflatable donuts  even when i wasn't swimming i had fun cheering for my Friend and my house kea the green team i had such a fun day I'm so glad i went  i had such a good time and we could just snack on food all day and when i got back to school we played a fun game

IN GRILL 2.0

My favorite place in GRi11 2.0 is the Hangout. It is a place where you can talk and hangout like the the name says. It is really cool .its different from all the other rooms like the hideout which is silent. It is just really cool room and I like being able to talk to my friends about our learning.

On Monday grill 2.0 went to Sixtus lodge for school camp we got to ride horses i rode one called kokomo(koko). he was so cute.the horses were so tired koko was a black horse we first went for a little walk then we weaved around some barrels and over a bridge over some logs and then you went really close to a pole and grabbed a can and put it back on another pole there were heaps of horses i only know the names of some
